It's a small world after all

In the recent episode on the gunfight at Jenkins Saloon, I mentioned how most of the surviving participants were tried for murder. What I didn’t mention is that the owner of Jenkins Saloon, Jesse Jenkins, hired his brother to represent the men at trial.

You’ve likely never heard of Jesse’s brother, the attorney Charles Jenkins. But you’ve certainly heard of his most famous client, John Wesley Hardin.

I guess it’s a small world, after all. Not only did Charles get Hardin off, but he saw to it that them fellers over in Tascosa didn’t do any time in the penitentiary, either. Proving once more that the pen is mightier than the sword.

If you haven’t already heard, I released a new episode today on the mystery surrounding Billy the Kid’s trigger finger. It’s a short episode and I sorta do a bit of rambling, but we discuss whether or not The Kid’s body was buried intact, Pat Garrett’s thoughts on the subject, and how we know if Billy is truly buried under the caged tomb over there at Fort Sumner. I also discuss a few upcoming episodes and offer up a correction from a previous edition.
