Hello! I just wanted to touch base with a quick update.
This Wednesday (tomorrow) there will NOT be a new episode of The Wild West Extravaganza. Instead, I’ll be re-releasing the series I did over a year ago on Wild Bill Hickok. You may remember that it was a three-parter, and I just went ahead and combined them all into one long episode for your listening pleasure.
Next week, at some point, I’ll be doing a swap with another history podcast. The topic is something I personally requested and the host in question definitely exceeded expectations so I think you’ll really enjoy it. I’m not sure which day this swap will be released, possibly on Wednesday in lieu of a new episode.
Don’t worry, brand new material is coming your way.
There’s a lot going on in the background but I am currently working on finalizing a pretty lengthy episode on Claude Dallas, along with Harry Tracy and Soapy Smith. I know I keep teasing Tracy and Soapy, but I promise that they are coming soon..I just don’t want to rush them.
After that, we’ll more than likely tackle Bass Reeves. Then I’d like to move on to the Dakota War of 1862 and finalize a series on John Wesley Hardin.
As always, I’m working on about a dozen things all at once so you’ll probably also get a few shorter episodes tossed into the mix. There are just so many topics I want to cover here on The Wild West Extravaganza and not enough time in the day!
We’ll make it happen, though.
DO YOU USE GOOGLE PODCASTS????
Oh, and one more thing. If you listen to The Wild West Extravaganza via Google Podcasts, please be aware that they will be shutting down completely in 2024. Unfortunately, this means you will need to find a replacement podcast-listening app.
If you’re an Android user, I’d recommend the app that I personally use – Podcast Addict. There’s also Pocket Casts, AntennaPod, Audible, Amazon Music, Podbean, PlayerFM, Podcast Republic, and of course, Spotify.
If you’ve got an iPhone, you should already have Apple Podcasts installed on your phone. Several of the other apps I just mentioned are also available on Apple devices, like Spotify, Audible, Amazon, and Pocket Casts, or you could try Castro.
And if you listen on Google Podcasts from your laptop or PC, many of the apps I just mentioned also have desktop versions.
If you have any difficulty making the switch, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
A lot of options! Remember, this ONLY affects you if you listen to The Wild West Extravaganza on Google Podcasts. The Wild West Extravaganza will still be available everywhere else.
OK, that’s all I got. Talk to you soon. Adios!
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll listen anyway, got nothing better to do.
You okay Amigo? You went radio silent.
