Im no photo expert. I do know, that alot of times, I can look at a photo and think its the spitting image of someone. Then, I can hand the photo to someone else, tell them this looks just like "such and such", and them not see any resemblance to that person whatsoever. Anyway, I stared at this photo for awhile, and thought, this does favor the Kid. There was someone else though, that I also thought it looked like. Im gonna say who I think it looks like, even though I know how you feel about the person, and I sort of feel the same way about him, but I do try to keep an open mind. Said all that to say this. After I thought about who the other guy is, that this sort of looks like, and it finally hit me. It looks like some of the photos Ive seen, of a young Brushy Bill Roberts. Like I said at the beginning. Others may not see that resemblance. Im just throwin it out there.
If I am not mistaken, BTK was the son of a relatively educated father. Possibly a teacher. So, I think it’s plausible there could have been a photo taken in his younger years when he was somewhat civilized & prior to the start of his juvenile criminal history. I can create some similarities but I’m not ready to buy what’s being sold regarding the picture. I buy Josh’s words all day long however. Just saying……😊
Thanks Lee! Actually, the truth is nobody knows for certain who Billy's father was, much less his profession. He would have died sometime prior to Billy being around 8 years old.
Could indeed be Billy, the closed mouth of the new picture suggests buck teeth and the earlobes look similar to the tintype - unlike the earlobes of the pics of Brushy Bill (eyeroll). I think the new picture does bear a similarity to the authenticated tintype.
It's authentic. This is what he looked like. I shared a photo that had other regulators in it and matched this photo at 96% and a face match. Perhaps one day the new technology will show the things covered up
I'm not fully convinced but the more I have studied the similarities are uncanny.

The Croquet Tintype was authenticated in 2015. It's never been debunked.
