Grew up in the town of Kenedy, Tx, about 60 south of San Antonio. Mifflin Kenedy named the town and he and the King patriarch built the railroad which ran through the town. He also has named after him the county of Kenedy located south of Corpus Christi.
Had never heard of the notorious son until this article, but have heard of many stories of killings by wealthy family members and them getting off without suffering any type of jail time. $25,000 would have been a lot of money back then.
Nice piece Josh, I've heard about her forever and never read up on it too much knew the basics of the story. definitely a bigger piece of shite than I realized
Print Olive wasn’t killed in 1872 by Kennedy. He still fathered a couple children some years later. Olive led quite a colorful life until he was murdered (shot in the head) by Joe Sparrow. A trial for Print Olive concerning an earlier gunfight and killing took place in Hastings Nebraska, where I live. A dive bar and saloon named The Olive Saloon still exists in Hastings, owing its name to Print Olive.

Nepotism is such an ugly thing. He should have gone done before and poor Dora's life would have been spared. Great article, Josh.
